Searched to see if this has already been posted but can't find it. If it has, point me in the right direction and I'll ask the mods to delete this.

If you're lucky enough to live near one of the 150 Argos stores offering the service, you can now take your eBay parcel to Argos, pay them the postage and they'll deliver it to your buyer the next day. The service is fully tracked and signed for and the three price bands are comparable with the Post Office, myhermes etc.

Tried this 2 weeks ago. Paid for and wanted next day delivery and there is an Argos near my place of work, so thought it would be a good idea to test. Argos took 3 days to register they had it at branch, I had tracked proof they had it (went in the second day, a day late at this point) but until they email you a code they (the assistants on the counter) won't go check to see if they have it.

It appeared if they had lots of deliveries/restocking to do of their own stock they did that and left the eBay stuff until last.

Thanks for this. Much easier to park to go in Argos than near local post offices.

You've misunderstood. This is not the Click and Collect service for buyers which you're talking about. That's been around for a year or so. I've used it as a buyer (and seller) and it works very well. I've never seen it used for next day delivery and I'm not even sure that's possible because the delivery to the Argos store is done by whichever postal / courier service the seller uses so even if that was a next day service, Argos still have to process the item and I've never seen any reference to Argos doing a same day service.

This is a new service for sellers using Argos instead of the Post Office or a courier.

Hopefully this list linky works. I'm sure it will be rolled out nationwide eventually - there's no store near me at the moment.

No, sorry. It says in the T&C you can extend the cover, you'll have to contact eBay's CS to get details or search in the Help on the website.

Ahh I've read it properly now. This would have been a good way of eliminating Royal Mail from my life if it wasn't for the pricing, great for games consoles and rectangular and square boxes, not so much for Postal Tubes.
For anyone that wants to know, it is £1 to increase the insurance from £25 to £500
