    ebay help please

    Cut a very long story short i bought an item from america i have a usps tracking number.The seller says he says sold quite a few items and shipped them successfully to the UK.Its now upto 5 weeks since the last piece of information that it was in NY on the 25/01/2011.
    The seller says that i should goto uk customs but who should i speak to also will they recognise the usps tracing number.
    I have opened up a dispute in the ebay resolution centre stating all this info.
    What would you do next as i seem to be running into a dead end now.

    Wait for a refund from the seller, it's their responsibility to get the item to you or to make a claim if it goes missing.

    Open a dispute before 45 days are up (the paypal resolution cut off time).


    EDIT: Ok I see you have done this, have you escalated it yet? If not do that and if you have let it run it's course and paypal will be able to see you haven't received it and you should be covered.

    you should not be searching for it , its upto the seller to get it to you , open dispute you will win .it would be a different story if you wasnt in and the parcel could not be delivered then you need to go and collect it, but this isnt the case so your covered , 5 weeks is plenty of time for it to get to you ,open a dispute NOW

    I have opened a dispute with the seller i have checked with the local sorting office also checked with royal mail.parcelforce and ups and there is no record of this usps tracking number reaching the uk.Who can i ring in customs and see if they are holding it there.I just want this item

    Hi, this tracking number is only for track within the US, after that go to UK customs and there can take few weeks in to arrive to your address, but it's necessary to complied the import customs forms and you may to pay some import duties or taxes I can tell you that because I ship a lot to the UK and never not shipments have ever been lost, only take more time, one time it took over 5 weeks in to arrived. '

    it all depends on how he shipped it over? snail mail can taken upto 3 months to arrive, standard airmail can take upto 6 weeks because the parcels are in customs. I know this is a fact because i shipped 6 boxes home from Orlando last Sept 3 boxes arrive in 2 weeks and the other 3 took 6 weeks. all of which had a customs charge ( which i have now been refunded for)
    If you ring customs they will be able to tell if there is a parcel waiting to be checked with the ref number your seller gave

    have you tried the paarcelforce and track & trace sites?

    If you type the Custom ID that is found by the barcode of the Customs … If you type the Custom ID that is found by the barcode of the Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note-CP72, you will get the tracking results, like acceptance date in USA, arrival in UK, Clearance of Customs, Attempted Delivery, etc. Please make use of this, since it is a very very good form of eBayers trying scam us with "item not received''!

    k will send an email to the seller hopefully he will have kept a record of it cheers for the help will keep you informed of my progress

    don't know if this will be much help but i buy alot of things from america on a regular basis and usually most get here within 2 weeks but i have had several things that have taken 5-6 weeks to get here and the only thing i can put it down to is them getting stuck at customs for some reason, however you don't want to miss your window with paypal for initiating a chargeback, afterall you have not received your item and as others have said it is the sellers responsibility to get it to you.

    When you pay with paypal you have 45 days to put a claim in from the payment date. You can claim through ebay, but you can also claim back through paypal. There never used to be a claim bit on ebay, it just used to be through paypal. Some people prefer claiming through paypal, others through ebay.

    So i paid for this item on the 6th jan and i have opened up a dispute on ebay what else can i do

    Have you put the usps number into the royal mail website. International mail stops tracking on it's dispatch country when it leaves and starts tracking on the postal service of the country it arrives at when it clears customs.

    give them a ring, give them the tracking number you have and hopefully they have it
