EBAY - How do you send your items, Postage Costs etc......???

I've been a buyer on eBay for a number of years now, but I've never actually sold anything. As Im looking to sell a number of items (iPods, various new clothes, golf clubs etc...) Im wondering what is the best way to post these items. How do you guys send yours?

Things like golf clubs Im a bit concerned as to how I would ship these. Would the Post Office send them or should I use DHL or another courier firm?

The problem with the Post Office is that I dont actually have one near me anymore, they've all closed and moved into WhSmiths. Whenever I've travelled to my nearest for something else the queues are horrendous, so I dont much fancy queuing up with 20 packages under my arms.

Any suggestions or experiences would be useful. As well as a general rule of thumb in regards to postage costs.

Use the post office, get a list of costs from post office, purchase from ebay a box of jiffy bags say 50 for really cheap price.
Recommended use special delivery (cheaper) or recorded delivery. Any problems askl the seller to go back to reference no. shown or note the reference no. and update the buyer yourself (prefered)

or

use a separate company like parcel2go (they cost 6.95 on most deliveries regardless....

Whatever you do, make sure you post using a trackable source to make sure you don't get ripped off. Recommend that you have a look at the Community message boards on Ebay.

Just make sure you create another username for posting on Ebay forums (if you use your selling ID you just get your listings picked to pieces & slagged off) also useful to use seperate accounts for buying and selling on there:thumbsup:

what kind of golf clubs are you selling?

If its under a tenner you will be ok to send as normal. I would use recorded for more than that

I use only the best, that is Royal Mail..

If the golf clubs are being sold in singles then you should be able to post them with royal mail (check lengths first though)
We use royal mail for all of our small items (about 500 a month) but for anything that needs to be there for sure next day we use P4D or someone like that who use DHL etc. Special delivery is fine for small items but if you are posting heavy items it becomes expensive

padded envelopes - various sizes - go to poundland
brown tape - poundland or asda - tesco 2 @ £1 sometimes 3
if usu#ing a lot of bubblewrap buy industrial size - works out so much cheaper -
for clothes you only need mailing bags - ebay 140341482449 - just an example

as previous posts advise anything over £10 send recorded - making sure you include this in p & p charges

good luck - hope you make loadsamoney:-D
