eBay Idiots

Sold a Nokia phone last night on eBay and tonight received this email:

"Hello There regards purchase nokia I am really sorry but my Kids have been on E bay and purchase a lot of things I am really sorry but I do not have any use for the phone.Thank you very much.d"

I'm annoyed because the money from the sale would have paid for something I need, which I now can't go for and I've got a nice fee from eBay for £5.91 I've got to beg them not to bill me for.

It's too easy for people to blame the kids for bidding and reading the eBay site for trying to get the fees reversed I've got to wait 7 days before logging the none payment. Is this right?

ffs h8 time wasters, hope ebay dont charge you the fee, shame you cant neg...

Can you not submit that to ebay to reclaim the fees quickly. Or they still being slow on the recoup?

Thought they had a new system in place for this.

Ebay is poor for selling did you not try here?

you dont have to wairt 7 days due a mutual withdrawal and you will get tyour fees back, not sure on the listing fee

I've had that exact same excuse a few times

If what he is saying is true then you can get your account credited for the fees sooner.

Just go on the item and click on resolve a problem then click continue and select reason for canceling the buy..
A request will be sent to the buyer and when he accepts it you account will be credited.

Save the buyer and do the same back

Doesnt help... but an eye for an eye :viking:

Why do a mutual, the buyer doesn't get a non payment strike that way, plus if they don't agree to it thats it,no recourse.

I'd file as a NPB

Whats the point of that? Wait the 7 days and give the buyer a strike. Kids used the computer is one of the oldest excuses in the book, and even if true she shouldn't leave herself logged in.

OP the fees won't be taken till your next invoice date anyway.

because he wants it resolved asap, you cannot put in a NPB without waiting

I know that but the buyer gets off scot free that way.

I've just found the phone number for them they sent me. Hope your right and it can be taken off before the next account payment from my PayPal.

The sale of the phone had raised just enough money for me to get something for my lads birthday without going onto my credit card. Don't want to put it back on though until I find out I'll not get charged for a second time.

Cheers for all your advice.

Can't you send a second chance offer, was there an underbidder ..........

If you do a mutual cancellation of the sale and the 'buyer' or the 'kids' dont tick the right box to say they are willing to cancel the sale you will still be charged the fees for selling,so just be sure if your going to go down that route you can be sure they will do the right thing,

If you have doubts just wait the time out and let them take the strike, that way your sure of getting your fees back,

Whichever you choose the fees wont be actually charged to you until your next invoice is due so you have a bit of time to get it credited

BTW have a check and see if their change of mind may have been due to them seeing an item similar to yours, maybe cheaper, which they decided to purchase instead..

Don't do a mutual withdrawal, someone bid £70 on some boots I was selling for my girlfriend & then said it was a mistake & they are sorry could we do a mutual withdrawal.
I know things can happen sometimes so I agreed then they declined it so I got charged fee's & got knocked :w00t:
First & last time I did that, just file a non payer

You have to be certain the buyer is going to the right thing before you issue a mutual withdrawal, otherwise your stuffed as happened to you,

It isn't right, and even when they do agree you get a message from ebay telling you so and implying that the buyer is doing YOU a favour by agreeing!!!! Ha :w00t:

Just isn't worth the risk is it, all buyers have 100% feedback now so no way of telling by feedback.
