am I allowed to accept that offer [under the rules], and if so how do I go about finalizing it?

you can remove the item from auction easily enough, not good form though!

And more risky as the sale is less formal and based on honesty and trust.

if it has no bids then you can add a buy it now. if it has bids then you can end the item only if it has more then 12 hours left before finishing and relist with a buy it now.

i think they cange the status to a buy now and you just accept i know this happened with me and thats what the seller told me when they changed the status to buy it now i was to be online ready to buy it!

think you might be able to add a 'buy now' option retrospectively.

The best way too do it is start another auction with a buy it now price of what you have agreed then email them the item number so they can buy it now.
Be careful to do it through ebay or you wont be covered.

hmm so taking it off then relisting as Buy it Now is the best bet? How do I take it off, under what basis?

the list at the side of where you are selling it has the option of ending the listing then just put no longer available as the option thats what i do anyway and its never caused me any problems.

If someones paying by cash I in the past have ended the auction early.

Only reason being is the fees for ebay are ridiculous now. up to you tho

Just tell them if they turn up with the cash BEFORE the item ends they can have it. Don't end the item till its sold.

the cheapest way for you to do it is by personal message, agree the price and if your happy withdraw the auction, and then you won't have to pay ebay fees and paypal fees, if you are going to be paid by paypal make sure they pay you as a gift and then they'll be no fee's there as well:thumbsup:

edit listing and add buy it now

thank you!
