Ebay, paypal email address listed not mine!

Just logged onto my eBay account to sell an item.

When reviewing details there is the option to select the PayPal account for payments to be made to and this has an email address which is already listed and this is not my email address.

Oliverklgeh58@gmail.com

That is the email address which is listed which I can promise you isn't mine!

I haven't had any notice to say my account has been hacked, could log straight in, no suspect PayPal payments but how the hell could I have someone else's email address listed?

Wondering how they managed to change it in first place and if my email address has been hacked as well.

Looked in messages and it was changed on 25th August 2016.

You had better change it quick then.

also disconnect your debit/credit card from you ebay account

Sounds about right. They will have logged into your email to delete any eBay emails telling you of a change in payment method.

Bizarre that they didn't change your eBay password though.

Not that bizarre. People are far more likely to notice their ebay password has changed than their payment email address

More then likely you were logged into ebay when clicking on a links at another site.

They don't want to change your ebay password because they want you to sell items which they will gladly accept payment for :-)

That would only work if OP used the same password for their ebay and email and had entered it in a scam site. If they'd just got the email pass then they'd have had to reset the eBay password to get into that (unless they were the same).

Passwords were different, spoke with PayPal and they explained it was something they have seen before and the email address quoted above had been reported in past.

Appreciate all the replies!

I found a completely random address (i.e. a postal address 100 miles away from me) listed on my PayPal. No sign of a hack or anything, or any unauthorised purchases or payment. I queried it with PayPal and they said they'd investigate and never got back to me. Oddly, they asked me to leave the address on there.
