I recently sold my Techincs 1210 MK2's on ebay, stated collection only, get an email asking if i would post, i said yes but at buyers risk, started the auction at £300 and got 1 bid, by the time i paid fees i was left with about £260.

Anyway, had an email from the buyers parent saying they had arrived safely, and now there son has to start paying them back the money, they also left good feedback so i done the same.

Now i have the boy emailing me telling me the pitch control is all out, i told him they were fine while i had the decks and it must have happened in transit, but his response is he is using traktor so he can see the bpm is messed up.

Where do i stand if he makes a claim to paypal? Was nearly 2 weeks ago

Did you send by insured post?

Unfortunately Paypal usually side with the buyer!
They will prob tell him to return it to you at his cost for a full refund!!

I would say that as far as your concerned you have fullfilled your side of the deal, as the decks were initially supposed to be picked up in person and the customer insisted they had to be sent via post. You have received positive feed back from the buyer basically saying they received them in full working order and are happy with your service.

If they were sold with a No Returns Accepted and you''ve received feedback, I wouldn't think they would have any room to complain.

Thanks for the replies, as long as he sends them back in the same condition i'll be happy to offer a refund, i just dont trust paypal and dont want to refund him and he gets to keep the goods as i've heard of that happening before

I think that can happen if the good are fakes, so don't think you'll have an issue here.

If he raises a claim with paypal they will tell him to return them via a trackable method, once he's done that you will have to refund...

having said that, I'm unsure what they will say seeing as they said everything was fine, left you feedback, and now are claiming there is a problem. You could tell paypal they were in perfect condition, which was confirmed via the email you received, and the feedback they left. Not sure what they will say to be honest.

how can the pitch control muck up in transit? Unless the slider got bashed? You sure this lad knows how to mix?!

Nothing to stop him sending a box filled with equivalent weighing junk via tracked means, all he would be out is the courier costs for return yet gets a full refund and your gear..........schweeet

If that happened though, i would start a small claims court procedure, same as if paypal refunded him without him returning the goods to me

I never offered him a refund, i just mean that if he starts a claim, i will do if he returns the decks to me.

Not quite sure what he's after ?!

This is what i'm thinking, to me it seems he hasn't a clue how to mix, i remember when i first got my soundlab DLP1's i couldn't mix for &%^$! so i took them back to the shop within a few days.

Was only when i bought a seconds hand pair of direct drives i stuck at it

Hiya, if you do end up getting into the snad thing with paypal, dispute it, make a point of the length of time its taken him to file it, keep all his and your emails, you wont win with them before they issue a refund which they will take directly from your paypal account putting you into negative balance if necessary, then appeal it if they do refund him, they will make him return the goods by trackable means giving him a set number of days in which to do it, hopefully it wont happen but if it does contact the financial ombudsman straight away, they will take a report from you and the contact paypal, I did this recently after I was told by loads of people that no action could be taken against paypal as they are registered in luxembourg, but guess what I got a full refund and I keep the goods, advised a few other ebay sellers the same and they have also recovered their money and goods, too many people on ebay are filing false snads. If you need any further info pm me
