Ebay question on selling

hi
just wanted a bit of advice on selling on ebay.
i'm selling my daughters ds lite on there because she's getting a dsi for her birthday, it has a slight fault (the hinge is loose) but apart from that it works perfectly
the listing started at 8pm tonight. i've already had 2 ppl email me asking if i'd suggest a buy it now price for it. do you think i should leave it just in the auction (considering it's getting a bit of interest) or put a buy it now price on it??? i've only sold a couple of things on there before so not really sure what to do, any help would be appreciated

It'll cost you more to do that btw.

Agreed, they will only want it for a stupidly low amount. Most probable a lot less than the auction will finish on.

oo this is quite exciting 3 watchers already

People are just trying it on. As Sven says, unless it is at the right price (stupidly low) they won't buy it.

people who ask a BIN are sometimes scammers, so i would leave it to run as said above!! good luck with the sale!!

When I've had ebay questions like that in the past I usually ask them what they are willing to pay? If they reply with a silly figure I'd let it run as the auction. If, they offer a figure that you think is reasonable (or what you'd want for it) then go for it. It's always a gamble (the auction) and can go either way.

to be honest i've noticed that people who make offers for things for sale on here aren't prepared to pay as much as the people on ebay! :whistling:

true but no sellers fees to contend with and I would not trust half as many people on ebay as i would on here somehow??

whats it going for now??

I think E-Bay is far safer than selling on here. At least with E-Bay you have to register bank details, I would say that the ratio of scams to genuine sales on here is quite high. There is always somebody claiming to have been scammed on here, far too often the scammers hide behind relative anominity on these forums just waiting for unsuspecting victims who don't bother to read forum rules and guidelines. The simple fact is that you should always get contact details, send nothing until confirmed payment is received, always confirm the address to send to and always send by a trackable method. Aklways make the buyer pay postage and always keep receipt and tracking details.
