ebay question ( yes I know! )

So a couple of months ago my hubby ordered an item for about 50 bucks off ebay. Paid by paypal. It never arrived so we opened a case and paypal refunded our money to us. Seller couldnt provide a tracking number and had no proof of delivery.

Soon as paypal refunded our money.... seller opens a "unpaid item" claim. We have responded to her time and time again, but she is rude and threatening and unhelpful.

We have emailed ebay regarding the threats and personal attacks.

Does anyone know what we do next?

I am starting to find it rather scary which makes my hubby angry and I dont need him to do anything silly!!

Thanks to everyone for responses that are helpful.

seller opens a "unpaid item" claim

do you mean via paypal?

Just ignore her, worrying isnt going to solve it, theres nothing she can do.

Get on with your life hun, some people just thrive off annoying others and there more you respond the more she is likely to enjoy it. (just like certain trolls on here do!!!)

Yeah but surely paypal were able to look and see that you did pay, there is no way they would refund without checking she received the funds in the first place because surely if that happened everyone would just con them?

I'd just tell her that if she doesnt stop the personal attacks/threats that you will be taking the evidence to the police.

If your seriously worried about it then its definetly what I would do, they would be able to track her and get her local police sent to her door to warn her.

Some people just think they are a law unto themselves, f her I say, oh and I hope you left the cow negative feedback.

certainly did... lol

Just always amazes me how ppl will go from one lie to another to another... each time it gets worse and they get nastier. Youd think I would have learnt this by now. My natural naivete raising its ugly head again!

Thank you x x x

If you contact ebay and tell them what happened they will close their dispute and the seller will get a strike against them, they will eventually get banned. Not much help to you, but just leave negative feedback.

I'm not worried she'd hurt us cos my lovely if very protective hubby wouldn't hesitate a second to do loads of things that I never could!

I'll just sit tight and see...

(seller opens a "unpaid item" claim) aint the person just opened that to get there fees back for the item that you did not get, cause i would do the same if a person never got an item i sent them to get my fees back

One would assume not, based on the rest of the thread (threats, etc)

not sure i understand you....

No what happened was..

1) we paid for item by paypal
2) item never arrives
3) we contact seller and ask for tracking number
4) seller wont provide tracking
5) we open a case with paypal saying that seller has taken our money and we havent received goods
6) paypal consider the case and refund us our money
7) seller then opens an "unpaid item case" with paypal. ie she tells paypal our funds never cleared when paypal themselves were the ones to move the money from our account to hers and back again...
seller is consistently abusive and threatening... which makes me nervous and hubby start to get ... "psycho" as he calls it.. It's not a good idea to get him angry!!

I'm trying to look unconcerned and pretty so I can keep him calm... lol

we never received it anyway and we called the post office who had no record of it being sent. and we were told if it was sent and for some reason was undeliverable to us.. it would have been sent back to sender.

so... she either never sent it...
or.. she sent it, it wasnt delivered and got returned to her...
or.. she sent it and it got "lost" in the post.

My feeling is she has it anyway because of the way she's behaved and the things she's said.

I would block her email addy and as sassie said don't respond, although its tempting to!

TBH youve been very nice to the seller, and shes just been a right bitch, so if i were you, i would forget about it and make her emails go to your junk folder she can say what ever she wants its not gonna make any difference so sit back and relax dont let it waste your time.

I think i'll go to bed and calm hubby the old fashioned way... lol

Good night all and thank you..

will add rep in the morning as I gave out max amount already today!

It's a good idea to get/use a seperate email address for eBay selling/buying. So if anything like this happens it is easy to switch/chnage to a NEW email address. So then any direct emails of this type then never reach you in the future (as you have change it) and they will never know the new one one as A) eBay won't give that info out to them B) make sure you have put them on you block bidders list

taken from ebay Unpaid Item Policy.

Please note:
Only transactions with a winning buyer are eligible for a Final Value Fee credit.

I imagine she will get bored at some stage. I personally would block her if possible. Some good advice on here already.
police can help if it continues, its called cyberstalking and is a recognised offence. very easy to obtain there info from ebay and a phone call usually does the trick
definition below

Cyberstalking is the use of the Internet or other electronic means to stalk someone.

"It has been defined as the use of information and communications technology, particularly the Internet, by an individual or group of individuals, to harass another individual, group of individuals, or organization. The behavior includes false accusations, monitoring, the transmission of threats, identity theft, damage to data or equipment, the solicitation of minors for sexual purposes, and gathering information for harassment purposes. The harassment must be such that a reasonable person, in possession of the same information, would regard it as sufficient to cause another reasonable person distress"

usually done by people who dont have the b%lls to do this face to face and lead an extremely sad existence.
Dont worry about it too much, the law is on your side. I would be happy to sort it for you if you are in North wales, let me know
