Ebay Sale - Buyer wants to use third party

OK i have a large item on ebay that i am selling for £200+. The buyer is in Bulgaria and wants to use a company called econt who apparently pay me for the goods and he pays them, and they collect deliver to him in Bulgaria.

Has anyone heard of anything like this before, i have stated payment via BT for protection but am still wary.

looks like they do to me.

They do look legit, but I still wouldn't do it. BT or no, they can still do a chargeback. I just wouldn't - it's the seller's (YOUR) resposibility to get the item to the buyer, this could all go terribly wrong.

if he pays bt then you should get a letter from your bank to confirm payment. I would then call your bank to confirm it cannot be reversed. Also make sure the item will be tracked.
Has the buyer feedback? and is the item a phone or similar?

it depends how the courier company are paying. as it looks like a payment on pickup system? which would mean cash?

    AVOID!

Why would you even consider selling to a foreign buyer, with all the associated risks, not to mention the hassle? It's beyond me.

I stand to be corrected, but I doubt a courier will pay cash, in full for something they are just transporting to someone else. If the ultimate buyer has already paid them, then maybe, but there's still too much to go wrong for me to touch them.

the seller has 0 feedback which was my main concern. I never knew BT could do a chargeback, will have to check that if i do go ahead.

The thing i am selling is a computer case, i have always been wary with selling internationally

You're wary for a reason. Follow your instincts and save yourself from stressing out.

    I just wouldn't risk it..........

no sale is worth it unless it is just a few quid that you can afford to lose, I used to sell all over the place and time and time again I got "Item not received" until I got fed up with it...only sell to UK and there are enough scammers here to deal with but at least you can get in you car and try to find them...

he has to see how he is being paid..i have asked my friend and will update when i get an answer.

    NO NO NO NO.....

whoo hoo, i am glad to say the items this person was interested in have now been sold to UK buyers for a similar amount.

I am glad i didn't have to go through all that hassle of dealing with the above. From now on all listings strictly UK only to avoid temptation
