Ebay - Stockpiling Wii's

I'm curious. How the hell does someone stockpile this many Wii's??:o
I mean this seller has them all available to despatch next day so the assumption here is that they have either already bought them or that they have access to a merchant that no-one else does. If they bought them then they must have guts of steel to have risked the outlay on that much stock. By my reckoning they have probably made in the region of £3000 profit. Meanwhile mummy and daddy will be hopelessly trawling the streets wondering where all the stock went. I read in one of the papers today that Nintendo has commisioned several plane loads of Wii to satiate the British buying appetite in the final run up to Xmas day. Apparently they fear a backlash if they cannot meet the growing demand. By the looks of this seller he's probably reserved one of those planeloads for himself.:giggle:

For the benefit of those that dont have Ebay logins and hence cant access the link I have just posted, the screen shows all of the recently completed sales for this individual seller. They have sold more than 84 Nintendo Wii's at an average of £255+ (not including postage).

Hmmm, this guy would appear to have some positive feedbacks from Wii Sales from 3 purchasers. Just wondering if the other 77 purchasers will also get furnished with their goods :-D

If they are not scammers, they could have made a journey over to Europe, and bought a shed load and bought them back. However, i am not going to go down the ebay road to sell the one we won - there are almost as many problems with selling an item like a Wii as there would be to sell it!!

I've got a bad feeling about this Ebayer after the earlier poster mentioned about the Beko £100 t.v. scam. You notice that he's only got 4 feedbacks but sold absolutely loads. I'm wondering if he only has a handful to bait people in and is then going to fleece the rest. Guess we'll see in the next couple of days. Whats the betting that Ebay couldn't give a toss if this was reported until the police demand that they remove the listing. Either way they always seem to win. Im guessing that if 70 people try to claim there mony back through Paypal they'll just claim the costs through an insurer.

Anyone paying over £20 postage for a Wii on eBay needs their head examined...

I had one weighed at my local Post Office in its delivery pack and it was under £20 with insured/special delivery

postage £10.50 ebay fees £10 and paypal £10
thats why ppl put higher p&p

Is £10.50 postage next day? ...where did you get that?

yes - they usually get there next day or day after - thats insured too (for up to £250) - Royal mail

I sent one for £10.50, however it's using standard parcel delivery so it takes 3-5 days (it took the whole 5 for mien to get there) and you only get a proof of postage, but there is no tracking number and so no proof of delivery!

Where do you get those figures for postage from? Special Delivery next day with insurance is £19.45 for any item weighing between 2-10Kg's. The Wii weighs over 3 kg's so there's less profit in it than most people realise. Ebay fees are usually more than £10 quid and then there is Paypal fees ontop.

at my office, i was 14.95 insursed up to 250 thats 3.5 days,

assume im always drunk from now onw!

ive just emailed that ebay seller to ask where the huge supply of wii's are coming from...! Wonder if I will get a response!

haha oh wow, fair play to him, i would do that if i had the money to buy them with originally but oh well supply and demand etc

on a lot you will see (euro PAL, UK plug supplied).

Only the UK is short, a Spanish or German wholesaler will sell you as many as you want.

Hmmm.... Looks like I was wrong on this one. It would appear that this seller is legit since he'd have a stream of negs starting to filter through by now otherwise. Oh well, I guess he must be one of those that did a channel hop and filled his car boot.
