silent night are obv reputable, main thing is never put them on while you're not present, I love mine and I'm not old aged!! Scare stories about fires, but not a problem in general, keep smoke alarms in check and, as said, dont leave on unaccompanied and no prob at all.

i have a double one if your interested it was on the bed once!

    Tip:
I always run round the garden naked for 10 mins before I get in bed when I've had the blanket turned on. Heightens the sensation.

i bought this one yesterday anit works a treat covers my double bed nicely

oh and i would recommend you select an underblanket rather than an over blanket. my overblanket constantly rode up and bundled with my duvet in the cover by morning every night, very frustrating.

I have a dual control as my fella doesnt like being two hot so I have my side on full and he can have his side on low, or off completely.

i would go for one of the fitted types as they are better imho, and make sure the blanket is machine washable too. i use mine for preheat without a problem and during night on low setting which is what they recommend on instructions anyhow, if you read them.... wouldnt be without mine, i replace about every 2 to 3 years anyhow to ensure they are safe.

I bought this one for my mom this morning, fits easily onto
the mattress and covers all of the bed(double)dual control
    one available as well.:)

i used to have one and loved it, after a few years i moved the bed whilst it was still plugged in and yanked the wires out so had to chuck it as felt it was unsafe then, never got another as never found a kingsize fitted one

I have one... Mines by Dreamland... Can't live without it :-).

imho the tie tape ones slip all over the bed which isnt great if its for someone older to care for. would pay more for the fitted mattress cover type.

:w00t: .........I suppose it depends how much action there is on the bed...........

    I'll get my coat :whistling:

i have worked with a lot of elderly and its a pain them moving around, i would sooner have it fitted in place and its easy to slip another fitted sheet on top too. the mattress ones have in my opinion a slightly larger heating area than the traditional. when i was buying mine they had a better heat range output as well. probably because they are more update a design than the traditional tape ones, which are cheaper. i guess whatever you like or budget but fitted it will be for me from now on. personally. action or no action phil. lol.
