    Electric chain saw oil

I have a electric chain saw, can i put two stroke oil where it needs oil?

Or does it have to be special chainsaw oil.

should be ok, its only to oil the chain, chainsaw oil is usually fairly thick, but still mostly just flies off the chain anyway

motor oil would be cheaper if you have some of that

too thick and it wont go through the lubricator, too thin, and more of it flies off

you could use it, but its likely to get thrown off as soon as you start it

    As above.

It's well worth getting the proper stuff as it is formulated to lube the chain without getting flung off which 'normal' oil will do.

Tip: If you have a 2 stroke chainsaw and you don't use it regularly - empty the remaining fuel out when you've finished. If you don't it leaves a film residue in the carb and eventually it will refuse to start and need a strip down of the fuel system to resolve.
