Emmerdale star dies... How sad...

Actor Clive Hornby, who plays Jack Sugden in Emmerdale, has died aged 63.

Clive joined Emmerdale in 1980 and remained the longest-serving cast member in the history of the soap.

Emmerdale producer Anita Turner said: "This is a devastating loss and we are all deeply saddened.

"Clive will be greatly missed by everyone who has worked with him on Emmerdale during the past 28 years.

"He was a hugely popular and well-respected member of cast and a terrific actor. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time."

Only watched it years ago when it was about a farm. He was good in it then. Sad news. :-(

Its surprising how shocking news like this can be to someone, he has been a regular on the soap for 28 years so in a part became part of peoples lives, almost someone people felt they knew simply because they saw him on tv several times a week.

Condolences to the family of Clive Hornby on the loss of a loved family member and also the cast and crew from Emmerdale on the loss of a close friend and colleague.
