    Entry level gaming pc

    amazon.co.uk/dp/…0L8

Hello, I found this pc and it looks a lot better than all the others I have seen for this price - my question is could I install steam on this for my 9 yr old to play games like octodad and minecraft? I really hope so a I'm sick of looking lol Thanks so much in advance.

I would be very concerned...too cheap...already seen some funny deals from this seller today

Intel 2600 is a processor from 2011, though it still is quite good to be fair. GTX 650 is a budget card from 2012 and it will struggle with most 3D games, though minecraft seems to run on almost anything.

Seller has over 12000 items for sale and a good amazon rating (4.8 stars over 6700+ ratings). As the other comment stated it's just an older collection of parts.

Looks like the deal has already been pulled though, same happened with this seller and a bargain SSD a few hours ago

You're right! That's the strangest thing... I believe it said there was 3 available as of no more than 5 minutes ago. I can see the concern, but then again... at those prices the stock is going to go fast.

Yes it is hard to tell if the deals are being pulled or they are just going super quick, that collection of parts was worth at least £300 stripped down I would reckon.

I was halfway through roughing the price out to see if it could be legit or not...

This is what I got based on ebay prices:
    intel i7 2600 - £110
    1TB hard disk - £33
    8GB DDR3 - <£10
    DVD writer - £7
    GTA650 - £49
    Motherboard (LGA1155) - around £40
Case - random gaming PC case - £17
    650w PSU - £13
    Win 7 Home Premium - £5.75

Total: £285+..... OK now I have no idea why it was that cheap... Reputable seller according to amazon... maybe a pricing error?

Assuming some of those are 2nd hand prices too?

Damn it! Even my noob self thought it was too good to be true, maybe an error then. Wish I'd tried to buy it! Thanks for your advice, now to keep searching! oO

It's a new scam. The sellers account has been hijacked and in the listing they ask you to email them to purchase the massively reduced item. They then ask you to pay via BT and your item never arrives.

Keep an eye out for anything like the below
    ",F.or O.rders P.lease k.ontact US: nikkimcg2 '@' procut4,CoM" in the listings description.

That was actually all new except for the HD which was Refurb... There's a chance that the amazon seller has access to a PC repair shop or something? That CPU seemed rare/expensive, most on ebay seemed to be US imports... i'm sure there's something cheaper/better they would have used if they were paying market prices for any of the components.

If there's a semi-disguised email address in the description / condition fields, there is a very stong possiblity the (alleged) seller is attempting to open comms outside Amazon and subsequently dupe the buyer to send money to anywhere other than amazon.co.uk . These scammers even attempt to describe some of their own bank accounts as official "Amazon Payments" accounts. Such occurrences appear to be increasing and Amazon appears to have ineffective controls in place.

I don't see how that can work on Amazon... if the item is in stock you have to pay via the amazon checkout (fully protecting you in the process)...?

Thats why they are asking you to email them before buying. That way they can try and make you deal outside of Amazon

Hijacked account, everything is roughly half price and only 5 left, plus this..

So as mentioned above, a scam.

You should check out overclockers.co.uk, they do prebuilt systems and I think most of them come with a 3 year warrenty.

oh wait sorry you still have to buy os
