I have just heard that there may be problems with Expedia.

There is a party of 18 of us going to EuroDisney and due to arrive this Wednesday. Booked since March!!

I think I will get the details of the hotel and phone direct just to make sure. Anyone know anything about this at this time though??

Featured on Watchdog for giving 'Guaranteed hotel/flight bookings' to customers/users which hadn't been confirmed with the hotels leaving several customers/users wandering the streets looking for alternatives.
They then proved very hard to get hold of by anyone wishing to complain....

Sure it was only a tiny %...just enough to get Watchdog all of a froth, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to ring the hotel(s) concerned to confirm Rocko!!?!?

It’s been around since 1998 and has 19 million customers across the globe.Dozens of unhappy travellers have told us their Expedia bookings have gone wrong. Expedia often blames the airline or hotel. And maybe it’s right. But the people we’ve spoken to don’t care whose fault it is. They just want to know why they didn’t get the flight or room they were promised.Nigel Ricardo sent his details to Expedia last March when he booked a surprise trip for him and his wife. He’d booked a weekend in La Rochelle in France. Expedia sent him an email saying the room was guaranteed. However, on arrival the couple were told the booking had been cancelled by Expedia. The hotel was full and the Ricardos looked elsewhere, without any luck. They had no alternative but to abandon their plans and drive back to their house in Brittany. Lee Styles and Louise Ward booked a flight back from Thailand. When they went to check-in, their names weren’t down on the flight to go from Jordan to Heathrow. After waiting for hours, Royal Jordanian got Lee and Louise on a flight to Paris, not Heathrow. They had to make their own way home from there.Travel expert Alison Rice says booking online may not give the protection we expect. There are hundreds of websites competing for the holiday pound. However, unless you book a flight and hotel package, you have less protection. Traditionally, travel agents would have a duty of care should something go wrong with any aspect of the holiday, but you have less protection if you book just the flight or hotel.Expedia has offered a refund in all of our cases and to cover the cost of any extra money spent in making alternative travel arrangements. The company says it’s disappointed to hear about customers who’ve had a poor experience, whether it was Expedia letting them down or not. The firm says it always strives to get every booking right every time. The company says 99.85 per cent of its customers don’t experience problems with bookings. Expedia also says it doesn’t cancel bookings unless requested to do so by a customer. In addition, the company says that when customers receive a confirmation email their booking is confirmed with the hotel or airline. However, the firm says the issue at the heart of these concerns is an industry problem: “It’s frequent practice for hotels and airlines to overbook to allow for people not showing up (‘no shows’), cancellations and early departures.”

Sorry to hear that Rock, hope it's all ok.

Not a told you so but never risk booking anything with anyone that aren't ABTA bonded as you have no comeback.
