[CENTER]There is a reason that they can afford to lose fee's by doing this and that is the fact that as a personal payment you will not be able to make a claim for item not received etc.

As such, I can see PLENTY of eBay buyers NOT wanting to go for the personal payment route and therefore cause the seller to incur 3.4% + 20p as usual.

I'm not sure if it's a case of buyers trusting my feedback profile on eBay (of which is several hundred positive, no negs or neutral)... it's extra effort required on the buyer's part and they don't benefit from it themselves unless the seller offers to reduce the overall sale fee to share the savings.

It doesn't apply to ebay transactions anyway from what i remember.

I'm thinking if there was a new seller on this forum, it could be possible to make the payment by the usual paypal method, after receiving the goods then the seller has the choice of refunding the money back to the buyer, so he/she can make a repayment through personal paypal payment, that way the seller wouldn't incur any fees.

seller would have to be careful of who they are trusting that refund to though, because there would be no guarantee that the buyer would make a repayment.
