    Eye Trouble

    Heya...

My issue is best described as film grain like flickering across my entire field of vision, with a redish tint. Dark stuff shows up the flickering best and white stuff shows up the redish tint. Not sure if the redish tint is a problem with light my eyes have or if it's connected to the flickering.

I've been having trouble with my eyes for many months now. The optician at specsavers found no issues when I got new glasses last May, the guy I paid £25 for a full eye examination 1.5-2 months later found nothing and the NHS eye specialist at Newcross I had to wait 2 months to see found nothing.

Due either the eye drops the guy at Newcross put into my eyes or the very bright light he shined into my eyes, everything was 10x brighter than it should've been when I got outside the hospital, meaning I basically couldn't look up without my eyes hurting. This added brightness, combined with the flickering, highlighted the redish tint and made matters much worse. I'm lucky I had someone with me...

Anyway, my reason for posting: What do I do? No-one can find a problem and it's troubling me; ruining my vision at night, making it very hard to see and making everyday dasks such as reading text on white paper or reading text on certain sites on my PC hard. :-(

    Wotcha;-)

Best advise is to got back to the doctors and insist on being referred again. Otherwise take up the offer of one of the free sight tests that keep coming available and get another opinion.

    Hey Prissy Missy...

The trouble with the NHS is that you have a long wait to see someone for all of 5 minutes. There was seriously around 25-30 people waiting both times I've been there, with a cue of around 5-10... I had to wait ages just to give me letter in!!!

Will keep a lookout for free eye tests, can't say I've seen any on here.

They are normally for Dolland and Aitchinsons. Found in magazines etc. If I find a currrent one I will let you know.

Tune up, just so you're aware, the eye drops at Newcross were to make your pupils open up wide so the specialist could check your eyes better, which is why they would have caused problems when you went in to the sunlight (but surely they explained this to you before they administered the drops?)

No, he simply said it might make make my vision blurry, didn't explain why he wanted to do it or say anything about light. They were rushing through so many people I barely had chance to explain my problem before getting discharged.

Hello Aion, didn't you get this sorted last time?

You need go back and get seen, you only get 1 pair of eyes.
I know the sort of drops you mean that open up the pupils,my partner has them all time,it says in the letter you get with your appointment about what the drops do etc.I usually go hospital with him,he wears sunshades and I pretty much guide him home with his eyes pretty much shut on way back.My partner as detached retinas in both eyes,he's been advised how he knows if it gets worse, basically its got something to do with how far he can see up above his eyes by looking ahead.Well people with retinas intact can tell there something above their heads but he can only see so far to the top,now if it gets to the point where he can't see at a certain level he to call up and they will see him straight away - apparantly.
I always make sure he goes to his check up appointments, they said eventually he need an operation if the problem gets worse but can't really say when, there might not be any change for a long time to come.

    Excuse me?

It doesn't get much more obvious than liking Anime and writing about the exact problems you had last time.........

I read the first line and knew it was Aion, hardly a bright spark of an idea to start this thread was it?

    Oh look, same problem.....

Even so, no need to state the obvious.

Don't make yourself look more pathetic; it's obvious you were welcoming enough to say my old username when I'm using a different one. The fact you remembered a thread I made so long also tells me you have no life...but that's only a theory, of course.

To answer your original question, no, I didn't get it sorted last time - I thought even you would've been bright enough to work out that I would not have created another thread if that were the case. I finally got to see the eye specialist at Newcross yesterday, got no answers, decided to ask again for suggestions since this issue is worrying me.
