    F1 Grand Prix

My son wants to go to silverstone to watch the F1, can anyone advise me on the best ticket to buy, is it worth buying one that doesnt include sitting in the grandstand and where is the best place to buy one from

I bought a pair last year for my stepdad. I got them from BuyaGift.com using Quidco and a 25% Discount code.

They worked out very good value and I would recommend you do the same.

    :-(

Ive been a few times.Worth paying extra for a grandstand seat in my experience.Stowe is good place to watch from, can see right down the Hangar straight (where most of the overtaking happens).Viewing is restricted from general standing areas, also much better if hammers it down.Moto GP at Donington Park is great event to attend as well,Cheaper than F1 and usually more action packed.Hope this helps.:)

I suppose I should have mentioned I ordered tickets direct from Silverstone site,Link here:

If you son has never seen an F1 car in action and is not too worried about watching a race, then in mid june there is a public test at silverstone, where most teams attend. Last year the tickets were £10 each for a day. It was limited viewing around the last corner and a bit down the main straight, but for £10 you can't complain. The test will probably be tuesday/wednesday or wednesday/thursday. I can't see anything offical comfirming the test but it's a traditional test and has been going for quite a few years.

If you want to go to the race, I suggest going through the official silverstone website to get tickets. Grandstand or not it's up to you, I went a couple of years ago and only had a general admission, and had a good time. Managed to see the cars from several different places through the weekend. If you do get a general admission, then take your own chairs and make sure you get there early, so you can get a good spot to watch from.
