    face creams

a few years back i swore that the best face creams were those from the premium beauty counters, ie dior, lancom etc. however as the prices began to creep up and up (ie hitting £50) i decided it really wasnt worth the money.... and have since started using olay / garnier and l'oreal, ie whats on offer on supermarket shelves!

however a while back i bought some stuff from lancome and got one of their ickle samle sizes and the cream was so rich and lovely....i am jus looking at the prices boots online (1000 advantage points if u buy 3 products one being skincare!) and they are still RIDICULOUS!

was wondering how many people bought the premium face creams and how many buy supermarkets.

what do you think ..is there a difference.... is it worth splashing out a lil more cash?

i am aware aldi/lidl do the best cream etc but thats too much effort finding a store nearby and dragging the lil uns across!!

I used to use a premium face range, but obviously dont now. I had been using diffrent ones then when the aldi one was advertised thought i would give it a go, and it really is nice cream, dont know on the anti aging front as to be honest even when using the premium ones i couldnt tell any different. But the aldi ones are really nice to use and havent noticed any dfference in my skin since i stopped using the expensive stuff

I use the Botanics Mature Intensive Nourishing Serum from boots and its really good for my skin, £6.99 for 30ml

in lidl their 'cien' range is really good - they do the ceramide capsules - £2.99 ??

they feel exactly the same as elizabeth arden ones i was paying £30.:thumbsup:

    thanks for linky.

thanks for all the replies...by the sounds of it... looks like none of u 'once-upon-a-time-premium-skincare-users' regret going back to basic moisturisers......so really cant be missing out huh!

For the last 6 years I have been using Liz Earle skin repair. I refuse to use any products with petrochemicals etc in as so much sold in the high street does. I am 28 and am still getting ID'd when I go out and people tell me I look 21. So if you want something age defying....use this!!!

when you are next out shopping in city centre go into lewis - m& s etc - garnier counters and look at new orchidee range - you are guaranteed an assistant will come up - let her put a miniscule !! dot of the creme and the serum - you then say mmm have you any samples i could try first as it is a tad expensive - you will walk away with a serum sample and a creme one 3mls each - now considering this creme is £220 for a 30ml pot - you have a sample worth at least £10!!

do that in 3 shops - you may be shattered but you have a nice supply of lovverly face creme!! for nothing

ask for sample of insolence perfume as well - gorgeous:thumbsup:

i can pass for a fair few years younger than i am, my mother has fantastic skin and until recent passed for at least 10 years younger and has never used a premium product in her life

I got some nice facial cream if you want to know, would have to PM it you though, as I think ill get banned for saying it here.

£1.89 each for q10 day and night creme in aldi I have been using it for a month and I can tell a difference. It as also been voted best skin care creme in health a beauty awards. Worth a try you have nothing to lose.

lol @ magicbeans last sentence, cant you get someone to pick you some up from aldi/lidl rather than paying 10xs the cost for an easy life lol

I used to be the same, I bought Olay for ages bit then I treated myself to some Liz Earle and I don't care if it is snake oil, it makes my face feel mmmmmmmmmmmmm yum.

I just bought some ]dear john by benefit
but i usually use boots ]botanics

    i dont use any

have a feeling i may regret that one day

Love Avene.....as I have sensitive skin plus Boots have it in their buy 3 for 2 ranges a lot of the time. The skin consultant told me to only use a pea sized amount and keep it in the fridge so it lasts longer. Makes it value for money plus I look 10 yrs younger than my real age but having dark skin helps.....:-D

Umm erm..I use umm ermm....... E45 endless moisture cream..I get very dry skin especially around my face if I let my beard grow for a day or 2 and can end up rashed :s. Doctor recommended me it so bought it..face stays moist n supple all during the day lol

I don't believe in face cream melarky. I use body scrub on my face in the shower and it gets the dead skin off my face. People say I look younger then I am maybe its down to genes. If I wanted to waste all that money on face creams like people do I'd flush me notes down the toilet lol

I don't need pictures to prove it some people are baby faced and it is in the genes. I have always been mistaken for being years younger then I am. I think if you believe you look younger then you are. If you think old then you become old.

I used to use Celestial from Lush

    lush.co.uk/pro…spx

Left my face feeling divine and smelt ...well.....lush really

however I have to admit to having stolen some of AMs cereberum (sp) that he gets for his eczema (bad mummy!!! :x) and it is FANTASTIC. We get in in a huge pump container that lasts about 8 months.

Recently I found that my face was still dry in patches. I splashed out and bought some Declor face oil to use before the cream and the difference is amazing
