Failed to initialize renderer!!!

I have had the same error for 2 weeks now and its doing my head in. Ive tried so many different quick fixes as shown on several forums but still no joy I'm hopeing its not my GFX card as i can't afford £200 + to buy a replacement. It was running Fallout New Vegas perfectly and then I went on one day and it wont move past this error. The GFX cards have the latest drivers etc and Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the card itself but it states in device manager that theres a problem with the device.... Anybody else had similar issues please talk me through it as I'm fredders with it now.

Windows has found an error with this device ..... error code 43

get a third party program which will remove the current drivers - so there's nothing leftover. Then reinstall OLD drivers. You never know it might be down to NEWER drivers so try old ones. Or third party ones.. omegadrivers.net/ind…=53

you need to be uninstalling the device driver fully . As per my previous link above early on in threaqd. If vista/w7 is using built in driver get manufacturers driver.(after removing all drivers and registry enties fo taht gfx card (driver) .. You would be better of installing your operating system again then installing chipset driver then gfx card driver (but before that look in device manage and see how the operating system handles the card now. If using a full retail version of the operating system it still has this error they you need to return the card (or at least take it out clean it re-seat it into an appropriate slot (try another if you have more than 1 capable)

Much appreciated , the only issue I have with any of the above is that NVIDIA only gives me 2 options for my GFX card drivers and when I reinstall these it tells me its unable to install due to not being compatible with my version of windows 7
