I was trying to buy tickets from newcastle to birmingham, with a railcard 2 adult and 2 children was £91.10 the day we wanted, but i found i could buy 2 seperate 1 adult and 1 children for £19.55 each using the railcard both times, presumably we wont be sitting together but if we only have one railcard between us are we going to get in trouble for this!

Do you have a family railcard? If not then it's usually one railcard required per ticket.

yes family railcard, we booked two journeys using same railcard each time to buy an adult and a child on same train, which was cheaper than if we'd used it once to buy 2 adults and 2 childrens (£60 cheaper!)

Thats messed up, should be ok though as they dont ask for railcard details.
