    fans in this heat

I don't think many people read deal requests (or maybe it is just my requests) so thought I thought I would post on my favourite board. Can anyone please suggest some good fans to get - either table top, floor or on a stand. The last lot we bought just weren't very good (I am not joking - they went round but didn't really circulate the air much)! They don't need to be very cheap they just need to work. We have homebase. B&Q, Argos, debenhams and electrical shops near so all suggestions welcome. Thanks

ive just bought a great pedestal fan with 3 settings half price at wilkinson £10 bargain!!!

I have found that they don't really work that great. They, after a while, just blow around hot air. Go for an air cooling fan (the type you put iced water into).

Have you got this and is it good? Happy to go for it if it works.

I have replied to you in the Deal Request section :w00t:

However if I were you I would seriously consider a ceiling fan. They are very easy to install, and the air flow from them is amazing. They start from just £15 from B&Q. I have one in every bedroom and the kids especially have a good night sleep with them. They are also surprisingly quiet :-D

£35 from Costco, although they can be a little loud, but then you get a nice breeze

Thanks for the post. However I really really don't like them at all. Personally I think they look poor and you look at them all year for the 2 months you use them, but that is just my opinion.

Thanks will have a look at this - think parents may have something similar and they are EFFECTIVE!

I bought 2 fans for my kids rooms on saturday from Currys in Colchester. Brushed steel desk top style, very nice. They were 20.00 reduced to 4.99. Bargain!
