dont have a pressure cooker but may invest with that in mind

thanks

u can cook it in a pan too but i think u have to soak the lentils b4 hand
u could also cook pea(dried peas) and ham
its worth buying a pressure cooker, potatoes cook in about 8 mins after pressure has been reached
leek and potato soup is another cheap one to make

you can do lots of meals for under a fiver if you have a slow cooker,
pork and veggies (whatever you have), vegetable stock cubes, some thyme, freshly ground black pepper and a bit of tomato puree, about an hour and a half before you want it add an diced apple or 2 and a small box of stuffing mix, looks like mush I must admit but my kids love it, its called 'that stuffing thing' in our house

yeah i norm make my own soup soaking lentils overnight so if it can be done in 12 mins thats even better

thanks michelleleemoo defo looks like a slow cooker looks a good buy

yeah i also agree about the slow cooker, everything tastes so much better in it,i cook all my meat in it,even cheap cuts of meat will be tender,i just throw anything in it!

another one is some sliced potatoes and onions and some sausages, grill the sausages to brown them then cook it all in the slow cooker with a couple of knorr chicken stock cubes then add some gravy granules towards the end to thicken

when u buy a pressure cooker they normally have a small recipe book with it plus there is loads of suggestions on internet for soups etc
my kids love soups with hot crusty rolls

How big a family are you?

No one appears to have mentioned this (_;)

just me wife 3 year old son and the dog

as long as the slow cooker has a high and low setting it will be fine
dont know if its healthier to use one,but the meat will be better in it especially if u have a little one eating it
