FEEDBACK WANTED: Eclipse Computers

Anyone ever heard / dealt with them before? Are they ok to deal with? Is shipping to the damned nation of NORTHERN IRELAND expensive!?

Thanks.

+1 for anyone.

Hi there.

All in all, I think I've bought about 5 custom rigs from them and various other computer components.

I generally found the prices and products to be good, but the one thing that I didn't EVER like was the customer service/support.

If anything goes wrong with your products, you'll have to send them back yourself and they'll test them to see if they work, if they do, they'll charge you £10...they're quite stingy with this I think.

I also wanted a refund on something one time and they instead just gave me some credit that I could spend on their site.

I recently sent back a DVDRW that was making too much noise and couldn't read/write any discs...I didn't hear from them for a month and so I contacted them a few days ago and was told they tested it, it worked fine, but did make a little bit of noise so they'll try and have it replaced under warranty...they'll get back to me in 28 days.

I haven't actually bought anything from them for a few months...usually buy from ebuyer/dabs now and if they're out of stock and I desperately need something and it's on eclipse...I risk it.

With regards to shipping...not sure mate, but I'm sure they're more expensive then dabs/ebuyer for that.

I'd be buying a PSU, so I'll perhaps look elsewhere if their service isn't the best.

+1 for you.

Try www.cclonline.co.uk who have resonably good customer service and a decent returns policy.

Eclipse! So someone hear has heard or used them before. They are based in Coventry, i bought a lightscribe dvd rewriter from there not long ago, but i went down in person as i was around Coventry University with my mate for the day and he recommended me them.

Good prices it seems like, customer service is good too, they know what they are on about. Not easy to locate though, situated in a funny place.

Hmm, might just buy from EC anyway - they do seem to be the cheapest. don't know..

I've been in touch with half a dozen of their customer service/support staff over 3 years or so and only 1 of them sounded like he cared and wasn't just trying to BS me to get off the phone.
They're cheap yes and in all honesty some people will get a bad experience (sometimes over and again) and some won't...entirely up to you if you want to buy something from them.

I live in Coventry and have dealt with Eclipse over the last 12 years on-and-off (mostly off).

They are one of the cheapest around for PC bits, but to sum them up - avoid.

HTH.

I suppose it's different not dealing with them in person, i only ever been there once and that was a few months ago. Must have been one of there 'good mood' days.
