refuse delivery and re-submit your order

no legal help as its a price drop it happens, some companies will like to refund you the difference to keep a good rep others not to be honest they dont have to.

order the cheaper lot and send back the expensive one, isit really worth the hassle tho

Is there any legal stance on this

Yeah, it's called "Sods law".

Supermod

Cancel and reorder. If they have not yet been despatched there is no contract. Therefore cancel and once you have the money back in your account order the other items. You might want to order the other items before the money is refunded in case they decide to raise the price again.

Tell them your going to send them back if they don't refund the difference and order the second lot anyway. So more fool them.

This ^ (magicjay1986) from the price drop you would save 1.99 x 3 so say £6 i could buy alot of after eights with that btw there is no law, most retailers have a price protection policy i.e i think currys have it ' if the price drops in 30days you get difference back' but i highly doubt play would have it, would suggest you check

FYI from their web

I want to return an unwanted item
If you no longer want your purchase and it remains unopened and unused, you can arrange to return it to us within seven days of receipt for a refund. Please be aware that we will not refund your postage costs, as there is no error on our part. If you use our pre-paid postage option then we will deduct the cost from your refund.

as said above if not picked/you can probably try to cancel , but on the other hand would you be happy if the reverse happened and the price went up and they canceled and asked you to reorder at the higher price,

mr sod and his law im afraid

Presumably you would think it unfair if they increased the price and didn't charge you the extra too?

Just refuse delivery and re-order

There is no legal stance - price changes happen, so it is just unfortunate. You have three options - take it on the chin (considering the amount its what I would do), refuse delivery and re-order, or just cancel the whole thing.
To be honest considering its a small difference, I wouldn't take the time or hassle to send back / reorder and just let it go. However if you do and feel strongly enough about it then go for it.

Have you spoken to them? It might be worth penning them an email saying that although you are aware the price was reduced after you bought it, in the interest in good Customer Service compensating for difference would be greatly appreciated, especially as the items have not arrived and that you can return the order; and that should they not meet this small gesture of good will then you will purchase elsewhere in future.
Any half decent company would not P**s a returning customer off for the sake of a couple of quid.
If they won't then protest with your wallet and don't use them again.

I have just written this for you - it's what I would send. I hope it helps!!

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your reply to my recent query about the reduction in price of items in my order.
Whilst I do understand that price changes are inevitable, I must point out that I have yet to actually receive the items (eight days after placing my order)
Considering the delay in the items reaching me, I feel that refunding me the discrepancy in price would be a satisfactory gesture of good will. I must also point out that under the Sale of Goods Act, I am entitled to refuse delivery or return the items to you should you refuse me this request. It is a gesture of good customer service that I have experienced from other online retailers for the same situation in the past, and should Play.com not be able to fulfil my expectations of service then I shall refrain from placing any orders with you in the future.

I look forward to your swift response and to reaching a satisfactory conclusion to this incident.

Kind regards,

Well they can charge 6.99 one day then the next drop the price the next … Well they can charge 6.99 one day then the next drop the price the next .. so in the first place they were clearly making extra profit .. plus everyone should be entitled to the refund because the product hasn't arrived.Clearly the product was over pricedHow are they not ripping everyone off?

Why did you buy it if it was overpriced?

How do you know they didn't get a new delivery of stock, maybe from a different supplier, that cost less than the previous stock that you bought?
You do know they are a business and have to make a profit to survive? From what you have wrote it sounds as if you think everyone should sell everything at cost price as if they don't they are ripping you off.

If the product hadn't arrived and the price went up, should they charge everyone the extra?

What happens if the price goes down when ur waiting on the product. . Oh … What happens if the price goes down when ur waiting on the product. . Oh wait we know the answer you get refunded because that's what any customer wise company actions is it in the company's interest to lose a life long customer for £6.00 then your answer would be no because the company would lose out altogether wouldn't. . The company needs customers more than the other way round just you remember people buy from people

Not really sure what that has to do with anything I asked?

did you stick your fingers in your ears and say 'not listening not listening' as you wrote that?
and if you think someone who gives you advice after you asked for some is a troll then hopefully no one will help you again.

It would appear that the OP is a buffoon.
