hi everyone

just looking for some advice with regard to a badly scratched disc.
My copy of fifa 11 has a deep circular scratch going all the way round the disc and the game wont load up fully without displaying the "disc unreadable" message.

i have tried glass cleaner and toothpaste but nothing is working.

any help will be much appreciated !

nope - but saw that they offered this service whilst trading in my fifa 10
you could give it a try, saves you forking out 30/35 quid for a new one
i think game do it too.

they do a disc cleaning service in game, ive used it before and it worked. was only a couple of quid.

And Blockbusters

Blockbusters charge £2, mine had the same and it got cleaned and worked fine afterwards!

One of my sons Fifa09 and Fifa10 discs both ended up with a circular scratch on them - all their other game discs are fine, so Fifa is cursed in our house. Had to replace Fifa 10 as scratch repair didn't fix it. He's since got a XboxS and had strict instructions to download the game to the bigger hard drive so theres less wear on the disc. And all xbox360's were laid flat.

Borrow Someones copy of fifa, install it to your hardrive and just use yours to boot the game up Di this with fifa 10

Ha ha, Credit where it's due! - Guys I have had the same huge ring around the disck - no other game has had this problem - Do you think EA use poor(er) quality disks than anyone else, a way of cutting back expenses in the credit crunch do we think?

If anyone has had success sending their damaged games back to EA - I would love to hear your feedback!

Matt

I got my new fifa 11 with 2 circles, I just did tilt my box a little to adjust the cables. There you go. damaged. Poor quality disks i guess. Can we do something like we do for most of the PC games and softwares, where if disk is damaged we get a copy from some mates and use our original serial key to activate it. I bought it for £ 39 from Tesco. Will cleaning correct the two circles. I am not sure. Some on please help me out. £ 39 quid is a day pay for the partime job and got screwed with a disc.

Borrow a copy from a friend and install it to hard drive, your scratched game should work afterwards.

Send it back to EA with your receipt and a cheque or postal order for £10 and they will replace it for you

Done the same to my Fifa 10 last year, the day I bought it!

If they do, they'll have to sell it in the FS section and not in this thread

Use BRASSO- Brass polish. Brilliant stuff
Fixed up my MW2 and Fifa 10 discs really well. You can afford to be really brutal using it, really work the scratch/whole disc. Then at the end just repeat but aim to polish rather than force out the scratch. Give it a wash before use.

As long as the scratch hasnt reached the data layer its easy to fix.

Not that you're allowed to buy or sell in misc anyway, but why not just buy a non-scratched version? Or do you think that someone will sell you one dirt cheap so that you can then get it fixed for £2? Let's be honest, the seller is going to do that rather than sell a scratched one on the cheap.
