Find a court date in the future?

Hello all,

I'm following a case in my local area. I'd like to know how I can find out upcoming court dates for the defendant in question of a specific case? I know the listings are made available on the day in court, however, it is difficult for me to go to court and check daily.

Anyone have a clue?

Details I have:
Case number and Defendant Name.

Can you not phone the court and ask? If they don't post their dates online and it's not practical for you to attend and read their listings it might be the only way.

I could phone and ask. It would be a pain asking everyday? I mean, how do journalists know when to attend etc?

The courts might be able to give you an indication over the phone when the case is likely to be heard, maybe even which week it will fall in if they can't be exact with dates.

Don't they publish it in newspapers a week before in section something like court in waiting

Any idea of which paper? My two local majors are Birmingham Mail and Express & Star.

Have you tried Courtserve website? I know you can do searches on the defendents name etc...

hope you get it sorted.

They used to arrange the next court date at the previous hearing, i'm sure if you speak to the clerk of the court he would be able to tell you

If a trial is part heard, does it mean it will be continue hearing the next day?

Thanks mate, will check that out.

Ring the court. They will give you the initial court date for a first hearing.

I would always ring the day before the hearing as it could be adjourned. If it is adjourned before that date a new date will be set by the court. If you attend on the day of the hearing it should be heard that day if the defendant please guilty. If not it will be adjourned for a not guilty hearing or Crown Court hearing . This depends on the defendants plea or seriousness of the case.
This is the best answer due to the plea of the defendant on the initial court appearance
