Find and rename duplicate files programme

    Hi,
I am looking for a programme that will find duplicate files in selected folders and subfolders, then will rename the duplicate files by putting adding a 1 after the first duplicate, 2 afteer the second duplicate etc. Anyone know if such a thing exists, I've trawled the web but not come up with any luck.

    Thanks people

I recently used "Duplicate File Detective 3" to find duplicates scattered over my hard drive and worked a treat, checked by crc check so didn't matter if the name was different, not sure if it auto renames the other files though but certainly brings up a list so you can delete or rename the duplicates

Why would you want to keep the duplicate files?
    Just curious

use Explorer and COPY & PASTE (its copies as FILE1 as pastess as COPY FILE1)

Sorry I didn't really explain correctly, I meant file names not actual files. Basically I have located all the files in different subfolders that have identical names (Using Duplicate File Cleaner), I am now having to rename them one by one. This si because I am doing a batch word to PDF conversion, and it won't work if 2 files have the same name

    This.
Find all the files through Search, then copy them into the same folder and windows will rename them.

Use bulk rename utility. You can set each file to have an incrementing number.
