I have been having a few problems with firefox not working recently, however internet explorer working fine. After fine tuning the settings firefox works fine now, apart from the fact facebook and hotmail take an age to load and then an error is displayed stating "failed to connect ". Hotukdeals works fine, as does skysports and most other programmes.

Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Rep given to all helpers.

I get this all the time... I just assumed it was because either the traffic on my connection is high.... or my total inability to maintain my computer to any sort of standard, maintainance wise, means I'm asking for it....... :?

:?

check your system for spyware, Firefox is good. compared to Internet Explorer.
Do a registy cleanup too .

It was working fine last week. Then firefox stopped working, and I had to input the new proxy/vpn settings. Pretty much everything works fine! I don't get it. I well and truly hate internet explorer!!!!!!!

Still get the page 'not loaded'... 'session timeout'... 'failed to connect to server'... messages though! :?

Usually a F5 refresh does the trick.... :-D

IE sucks
If your still getting problems, then just scan your pc with spyware/registry cleaners.
If you don't have any, then check out download.cnet.com/win…ws/

I do a kaspersky check a couple of times a week. Just done one now, and nothing showed up. Trying to download an earlier version of ff to see if it works.
