Firefox help please, where is my history stored?

Morning all (not a good one though!)

I have suddenly encountered a problem with Firefox and apparently I need to reinstall.
I want to save all my browsing history before I re-install - I assume that it is stored on the computer somewhere?
I have looked on Google and it says the history should be in the 'documents and settings' folder, but I don't have that folder (I am on Windows 7) and when I search 'history' on my computer I can't find anything?
Please can anyone help? I am now using Explorer and I don't like it :-( x

its all stored in your profile so copy across that once reinstalled

BTW, keeping a large history really slows browsers down

Oh excellent, thank you SOOOO much - they are clever enough to store the info completely separately, I would never have found it.

I just uninstalled and re-installed the program in 2 minutes, can't believe it took me the whole day to find out thats all I needed to do (I couldn't get any college work done as I was scared of losing my stuff LOL!)

Didn't know that having a large history file would slow the browser down I don't usually keep a large history file anyway as I like to run CC cleaner every so often, but I had about 30 pages open for college work I was in the middle of so you really did help me.

Really appreciate your help, thanks again.

Thanks again to everyone else who replied also but there was no history or equivalent file in the mozilla folder

    CooL!

btw, IF you have a lot of tabs and want to keep them, you can just save them all in one go by right clicking on a tab and selecting "Bookmark ALL tabs" and then input a folder name (e.g. Current work)

then that folder will be in your bookmarks and you can navugate to it and select OPEN ALL IN TABS to come back to all the tabs you were working on

and right click on the folder when no longer needed and select delete.
