I prefer IE6 but also use FF portable (so I don't lose all my bookmarks when a virus gets me), but if it was a choice between IE7 and FF i'd go for FF as IE7 is just plain nasty imho.

You should give Opera a try.
opera.com/

FireFox with add-ons such as no script, ad blocker plus, a built in dictionary and etc makes Firefox my first choice.

Opera with its built in ad blocker is good is good but compared to Firefox and IE the interface less pristine and and using it is quite different also.

IE is the industry standard, 99% of websites is compatible with it but you have to accept all the trash, pop ups, audio animated adverts and etc.

You can always use the Avant IE browser add-on which does add some good features onto IE but personally i think FireFox is better.

yeah unless your on here:p

Firefox because of all the add-ons available for it! IE7 seems like a downgrade in usabilty over IE6 to me. Firefox portables good too as you can take all your bookmarks with you.
The best browser add-on that is compatible with most browsers has got to be AIRoboform, especially for form filling on freebie offers takes all the tediuym out of filling in your address and email etc, and for remembering all your website log-in details single click and you're logged in!

I don't particularly like Firefox (though it is fast). Avant seems to work pretty fast. Another one is Fast Browser (creditted as being the quickest).

I used that years ago as a replacement for IE when the only other real alternative was Netscape (which was even worse than IE imho). Was pretty good in its time. What makes me laugh though is their current 'anti-trust' fight with MS

"We are filing this complaint on behalf of all consumers who are tired of … "We are filing this complaint on behalf of all consumers who are tired of having a monopolist make choices for them," said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO of Opera. "In addition to promoting the free choice of individual consumers, we are a champion of open Web standards and cross-platform innovation. We cannot rest until we've brought fair and equitable options to consumers worldwide."

All in all a bit like me saying i'm going to take Ford to court for anti-trust because they fitted a stereo in my wifes car that's not ISO DIN sized and has ford written on it:whistling:

Excellent, im glad you like it, i have just updated it to version 0.5, dont know if you just missed that version.

It updates the look of the thread view.

It's all down to personal preference really, give FF a try (as you are doing) and if you like it great, if you don't just go back to IE...both have their benefits and negatives

FF for browsing and Thunderbird for mail.

I wouldn't say either is better its just "different"...

I prefer the layout in Firefox than IE6 (or IE7), I like the tab feature and the add-ons, apparently its safer (the original reason I started using the browser) although if a hacker whats to get in they will regardless of a browser...

The only reason I used Internet Explorer is to download Firefox When I reformatted my computer

Try them both and see which one you prefer, i prefer FF.

IE works with vertually all web site, most FF users at some satge will have to use IE because FF wont work so as there is nothing wrong with IE, I take the view, why bother changing?

You so often see questions asked "ff wont load bla bla bla" with a tec reply "use IE"

ff i have the no-script plus the English dictionary definitely gets my vote

Love Firefox. Especially the tabs.
