hi everyone.

Does anyone know of any other Controllers that work with a firestick? I'm trying to find one but I don't want to have to buy a replacement if there is a cheaper option...

The below work with the firestick (basically anything that is bluetooth). Although not much price difference but shopping around you could get similar for around 9-12 if you don't mind buying from ebay/Chinese sites. Is you old one broken or lost? Mine developed a fault outside of warranty by 2 months and Amazon replaced for free via online help.

Just can't find the right one but you can also get ones similar to the below that are bluetooth.

Lol if you want bigger the below style might be even better! Just ensure you are buying the Bluetooth and not the 2.4GHz version.

Or if you want bigger again! The Nvidia Shield controllers work also although £25 on CEX. I believe PS3 bluetooth controllers also although don't have one to check personally.

Sorry quick google says it will not work due to button mappings which need placed into a folder you can't get access too without root permissions.

Update: Seems you can now though need some "messing around" lol. Says for FTV but also works on Firestick it said.

1. Download and install the SixaxisPairTool program to your PC. This is a necessary step.
(I used the Windows GUI version, but there is a CLI interface available for OSX.)
2. Then connect your controller via a USB-cord to the PC where the SixaxisPairTool is installed.
If its the first time making this connection, Windows should auto install the necessary drivers.
3. After the drivers are installed, start the SixaxisPairTool program. If it detects your controller, it should display a MAC-address (xx: xx: xx: xx: xx: xx) as the "Current Master"
4. Now download and install the Sixaxis Controller app on the FireTV.
5. Run Sixaxis Controller on the FireTV. Before you start it, make sure to hit the menu button on your FireTV controller and access the Preferences. From here, navigate to the Gamepad Settings section and select "Enable Gamepad".
6. Now click Start, the program will ask for root privileges and you'll see the Local Bluetooth MAC-Address in the format xx: xx: xx: xx: xx: xx
Note: For me it always prompts to make a change in the Language & Keyboard menu, but you cannot access it. I just click "No" and ignore the prompt.
7. Now head back to your PC and the SixaxisPairTool. Enter the FireTV's local bluetooth mac-address in the "Change Master" text box and select the "Update" option. Once that's complete, you can disconnect the controller from the PC.
8. Turn on the controller button via the PS home button.
9. It should then connect to the FireTV and the screen will show that the joystick is connected 1.

Note: The Sixaxis Controller app on the FireTV will disable bluetooth once it connects to the PS3 controller. This means you will not be able to use the FireTV controller. If you enabled the gamepad option, you'll be able to navigate via the PS3 controller.

Note: The FireTV will not sleep if the PS3 controller is connected. A long 10-sec hold of the PS3 home button will disconnect it.
