    Firewall fooshed

    My firewall keeps turning off every time I reboot - despite me setting it to be on all the time - any tips? Have I got a virus/trojan horse etc? Im running AVG which isnt alerting me to anything. thanks

    If I were you i'd try a better firewall, google 'comodo firewall', it's great (and free)

    The only thing wrong with XP's firewall is that it does not protect outgoing data. I have tried all the free firewalls and found them wanting, and they use too much of the PC's resources. XP is fine for most people and if you test it with ShieldsUp, you will find that nothing gets through (grc.com/x/n…yd2)

    Thanks for all the advice, I am currently trying comodo, seems ok. Also got back windows firewall with the following, if iit helps anyone : Start > Run and type: Net start "Windows Firewall"
