How are you serving them ?
I find that if you put them with loads of veg in a fish stew they go further.

Hope that helps.:giggle:

Ainsley Harriott?

Maybe not far enough:p

How large were the twelve fish? nitrogen levels in tapwater these days as well as ammonia levels are toxic to fish, and the buildup from other fish although not fatal to them as a gradual change will cause any new fish to be in shock, and as they add to the problem your nitrite. nitrate and ammonia levels will skyrocket, thus leaving your tank "uncycled" as bacteria is outstripped by supply. Therefore toxic water = dead fish.

Well worth a look if you're into fish.

I used to use that site alot... thinkfish is also very good;
thinkfish.co.uk/
though their estimates for how much you can keep are generous; they assume an expert level of proficiency.

the OATA boards are great too.

I see what you mean, I've a 125l tank with an oversized cannister filter (I'd like to upgrade to a 250l tank at some point). According to them I can fit 98 inches of fish in a 3ft tank :shock:

(for the benefit of non fishy people, that's nearly treble what most sites and books recommend)

If you actually go through and add your fish though manually it does compensate for that as fishes on there don't add their physical size but their comparitive size (eg a 6 inch bristlenose adds 9" and a neon tetra adds 1/2" )so it does
work quite well in the end as long as you do the 2 10% wc/wk they reccomend.
