Flying into Girona Airport - Transfers to Barcelona city

I think this is the bus service which most people use (possibly because it's the only one) but does anybody have any further advice or tips as it doesn't look like you can reserve tickets for it online and we're a bit worried now.

    Thanks.

get the train. Very efficient & clean and cheap compared to uk trains.

Trains The journey takes 1h20m from Girona to Barcelona Sants and the ticket costs about 6 €, depending on the train type (Catalunya Express is faster, Regional is cheaper). You can check it at Renfe's Train Time Tables page:

You'll be fine on the bus - it's a popular service, but we didn't have any problems with it when we went last year. I don't remember seeing a train station at Girona...???

You can get a bus from Girona airport to the train station. Its quite a long way so I think the train is the best option.

its 60 miles so I'd expect the bus to take aound 1.5 to 2 hours

I booked through www.resorthoppa.com, but was only going to about 30 miles up from Barcelona.

I'd say train as long as Girona station isn't too far.

Yeah that one quotes 310 quid unfortunately so it isn't really an option. Thanks though.

I've just tried the shuttle link from the Ryanair site and that is quoting £70 each for a round trip so that's obviously not what I was really looking for either. I have looked at trains as that's what I did when I went to Rome a couple of years ago but unfortunately Gerona airport doesn't have a train station so we would need to get a local bus and then a train which is a bit scary I think.

Ideally I would just like to take the Sagales bus which is what most people seem to recommend but I don't think that you can reserve tickets for it online. :-(

Did you book in advance mate or just purchase tickets at the airport?

It says it's 21 Euros each for a return ticket which sounds fine to me but I don't really know how to buy them.
