how long does it normally last?

I think if it was FP you'd know about it by now! Possibly just a disagreement with your system's if you don't normally eat them. Was there copius amounts of alcohol involved? Only way I can eat one!!!

no alcohol at all involved..... fella now being sick too

I got Kebab poisioning once. Lasted about 2 days. By the end my bones ached....
All you can really do is try to purge the system. Drink lots of water (a splash of lemon helps the PH), and try stick to simple food, like rice (if you can keep it down). Good luck !

aww don't cry. Drink plenty of cooled boiled water. wishing you well.

depends on type, strength and your body

I fight stuff pretty fast but I had it for a week badly

Had the same troblem quite a while ago from eating a Kebab. Was told by doctor not to
take anything & let it just clear itself, just to drink plenty of water & eat light food.
Should take about 2/3 days to clear but you should feel a bit better tomorrow
    All the best:thumbsup:

thanks, I dont have it half as bad as my fella but he ate loads of the kebab I just picked a bit. he has been really sick now badly and he is a hardcore kebeb man I'm pratically a kebab virgin

will never ever touch another kebab again in my life!!!!

Unusual for it to happen so quickly to be honest - usually takes a couple of days or so to get food poisoning after eating the contaminated product.

The only way you will find out is to go to your GP and submit a sample.

In the meantime, take plenty of fluids.

I have just had food poisoning from monday, but it has passed now, bloomin awful aint it, just keep hydrated and dont eat anything.

Where did you buy it from ? :whistling:

I disagree, i got food poisoning once from a chinese takeaway, symptons started during that night. The second time was a chicken baguette (hence why i dont eat meat no more) and was hospitilised the next morning with salmenella and camplyobacter (serious food poisoning) so it does'nt take 24 hours to kick in

That would be in your experience - everyone's different, and there are so many other parameters that can alter the onset of symptoms.

I'm just talking about the normal response time - as I get involved in a lot of food poisoning cases through my job.

People always assume that it was the last place they ate out in - whereas, some studies have indicated that approx 70% of food poisoning happens in the home.

Oh and most strains of Salmonella are far more dangerous than Campylobacter.

I didn't say it was'nt i said salmonella and campylobacter is serious food poisoning.

Not really. Campylobacter isn't particularly serious to be honest. There are no significant long term effects on the host. Although it is very unpleasant. Quite a few strains of Salmonella are relatively innocuous too.

But then, what do I know, I've only been in the job for 8 years.:whistling:

Oh well i got a nice payout for it, so must be fairly serious

You got a payout because they breached food hygiene law. It was nothing to do with the organism. I'd imagine you got your money from the business so you wouldnt report them to EH.

I'm starting to perk up a bit now, must be getting rid of it out of my body....lost 2lb since yesterday! boyfriend still bad though

I looked on the nhs website and it says food poisoning can start as soon as 30 mins after eating the contaminated food and up to about 5 or so days after!
I really do think it was the kebab, its all I can taste still

my back is killing me and my head hurts still but the nuasea has eased...... sort of...... my son just jumped on the couch and now I feel a bit quesy again!!

Believe it or not but the nhs site is inaccurate. We've been trying to get them to change it for months as it is misleading.

can last 2 -3 days, sometimes one, depends on the bug you are infected with, they all have different things doptn take any remedies for it tho cos if it is food posioning you just make it worse,
asall you can do is drink plently of fluids, and try and flush your body thats it
