For sale on well known auction site

    Hi there.
Posted an item for sale and had two people message me asking do I have a Buy Now price - what is this all about?
    never sold anything before.
    Please be gentle with me!

Basically end your auction early and sell at an agreed price

Just make sure they are not paying you with a E-cheque.

Thx - Yes I've read some of the horror stories on here - I've elected for Paypal only

    Just ignore them.

I've had it happen loads of times, they always offer WAY below the price of what the auction would end at hoping to grab a bargain and that you would be stupid enough to undervalue it.

    Buy It Now

Thx Ric - So if you've already listed it at a reserve on an auction basis can you change to a buy now by updating some screens- Do you negotiate with the people messaging you or what?

Thx for that I'm a bit slow at typing, I wondered if it was just people looking for undervaluations.

I wouldn't agree with ignore, just message them back and say you are letting the auction run and they are more than welcome to bid.
unless they are offering a very good price that is, then just edit listing and add buy it now

OP have you looked at the Completed listings for the same thing you are selling & that way you will know what a Fair price is for Buy it now.
Also E-cheque is paypal but takes around 10 days to clear & can be cancelled, so if accepting E-cheque then make sure the Money is in the paypal account before sending item.

Oh i didnt know echeques were paypal (how do you distinguish them) I just presumed that they would pay with paypal like I do when I buy stuff. We did have a look at past sales and intimated to the first two that was the price we were looking for. They didnt reply but we have 5 watchers after about 15minutes

if someone asks me if i have a but it now price , i always say i dont but they are welcome to make me a offer x

Thx - Can you edit to "Buy it now" at anytime or only before any bids are made?

I think that on BIN sales you have less fees to pay compared to when you sell something on auction, so if it something of high value it might be worth looking into.
See what they are willing to offer, once someone offered me a wonderful price above what I expected (there weren't many other similar things and they wanted the items asap) and we were both very happy so don't discount the idea without seeing what the people are willing to offer.
