Halfords charge £5.99 to change plus the cost of the bulb or you could do it yourself!

Googling it seems to say it is a difficult job (well designed there then) found this though,

Difficult Job this one, Manual says to remove the front bumper and inner wheel arches to get access to the Headlight retaining bolts, I managed to change all the Bulbs to the upgraded xeon type last week without all that work, Remove the cover on the back of the headlight, it is held on by a large clip, Move the clip upwards, it is sort of hinged, and the cover will loosen, it is located at the bottom by two lugs which locate in two slots at the bottom of the headlight unit, wriggle it a bit and once the cover is removed entirely you just have enough room to get one hand in to change anyone of the bulbs, the Headlight dipped or main beam bulbs are held in situ by a clip, fiddly to do but possible, the side light bulb holder just pushes in to the light unit, when replacing the cover, which is the hard part, make sure the side light bulb holders haven't been disturbed ie give them a quick push in,, look down the back of the headlight unit to see/find the two slotted holes where the cover lugs locate into, Be patient as it is fiddly and when the cover locates in the holes, the cover will fit snug in its recess then the large retaining clip will push back down to hold it on , Job done, Good Luck

I take back what I said then about DIY. That's a right pain in the rear.

I tried Halfords, they said if its a certain model they wont even attempt it, which I feel my girlfriends car is

    I can beat that.

I was quoted £150 to change a bulb on a Renault Megane by the dealer.

    Absolute rip off merchants.

When will car manufacturers stop shafting their customers.

    Especially Ford and Renault...

isnt it the dealer ripping you off...........not the manufacturer

i know the pain your going through op my side bulb went on my focus st and at the end i done it myself which involved taking the headlamp out after i ripped most of the front end apart. They do it on purpose a marketing ploy so people spend stupid amount of money on labour to get it replaced one of their most important ideas when designing a car.

No. Its definitely the manufacturer that uses designs that cause ridiculous charges being applied.

My Zafira needed a bulb changed in the dashboard. That cost me £200. Whilst the dealers charges might be high, its hardly their fault that the manufacturers designs are so crap.

My governor at work need the cambelts changed on his alpa romeo....... The only way to do this is to remove the engine.

you can go to an "official" dealer and pay 3 times more than an unofficial dealer so that suggests that regardless of how difficult it is to repair something, its the dealer that is ripping you off:)

Agree and dealers are not worth 3 times more as most of them are cowboys

If you know of any "unofficial" dealers in my area that charge 3 times less, I'll be happy to hear about them.

    25% maybe. 300%, not a chance.

Finally got it done by a private garage, knew exactly what he was doing took him only 5 mins to put it in, also added new wiper blades on front and back and only cost £15 for Bulb, 3 Wiper Blades (front x 2 back x 1) and that included the fitting, well worth it.

Company was ABS on Cheetam Hill Road in Manchester, cant recommend them enough, bloody Ford wating £39.99 for it, and Halford said they can't do it!
