Can't find a thread for this anywhere so just a reminder that the new season starts tonight at 02.15AM on ITV1, live coverage of the qualifying session from Melbourne.

Personally, I'm quite interested to see how Alonso does back at Renault, they had an exceptionally good car last time he was there particuarly off the line, but I just don't see him being in it this season. Sounds like Ferarri have a really good car for this season. Hopefully Hamilton can replicate his success (well, almost) of last season, crucial year for him this.

I hope Hamilton has it in him this year but my prediction is:
1 - kimi
2 - lewis
3 - Massa

There was a thread at the end of last season regarding the last race where Kimi won the championhip.
I want him to win this year as well.

I will be watching tonight/morning.

I doubt Reanult will do anything this year

Yeah I expect more from Massa this season, he was quite disappointing in 2007.

(my take)

2. Kimi
3. Massa

1st race result and final season standings
renault and the grass wont have the car to keep pace again this year shame really because i quite liked renault and was very surprised that they re employed someone who is likely to throw his toys out of the pram as soon as things dont go his way and then stab the team in the back
GOOOOOOOOOOOOO MCLAREN....................................

Okay, maybe just wishful thinking but I would love to see Kovalainen do well in the McLaren too. Would also like to see Button do well, the Honda was a terrible car last season though I remember Jenson saying he had high hopes for the 08 car.

IF your watching the qualifying on ITV at the moment and don't what to know the grid positions then I advise you don't read on!

I thought Alonso would be out of contention for this season, but really didn't think the Renault would be that bad, not even making the top 10 q3! great for Hamilton though, Raikkonen that far back, he's got a great chance. It looks like we will see a lot more mistakes this season though without traction control on the cars :? there won't be as many races where 1st off the grid builds a comfortable lead and maintains it to the end. Kubica a big surprise! if he hadn't lost it on the final corner of q3 then he probably would have taken pole.
