Free access to Barnsley libraries online library service (Overdrive) eBooks and audio-books.

Posted 14th Jun
With the Coronavirus closing the local library Barnsley Council took the decision to offer access to their Overdrive online site needing only the code 'barnsleylibs' and your mobile number.

Might be worth checking your local council library website to see if they are doing the something similar.

Some oK books on there. (worryingly Mein Kampf is available to borrow).…es/

Can you ready any of these ebooks on a kindle?

Apparently not. Wandsworth has been doing this for a few years now with books accessible through Overdrive or Libby and newspapers / magazines through PressReader. These apps allow license tracking / DRM which I was told is not possible in Kindle for non Kindle stuff.

OP - I have read Mein Kampf. Probably the most bizarrely edited rambling of a drunk person is how I would describe it. I almost gave up multiple times but it was part of a stupid bet, so had to read it. I guess you feel differently given your concern.
