Each day you open the Amazon appstore there's a little parcel icon if you click on it you get a few Amazon coins. I've had 3 each day for the last few days. I'd not opened the appstore for a while before then as the choice is limited but it's better than nothing! I've only tried on Android, not sure if it's the same on iPhone.
You can only use the coins on apps and in app purchases.
Thanks to HerefordCiderApples for pointing out that you might have to manually install it from Amazon as it's not on the play store.

Community Updates
The standard Amazon app from the Google app store won't have this. You need to install Amazon's special version at amazon.co.uk/androidapp. Allow to install untrusted app, install and you'll see what's being described.

Worked for me icon was down in the bottom right hand corner bouncing away. Looked like this!

AuthorI'll try to remember to take a screenshot in the app tomorrow, it's a bouncing parcel with a timer above it so should be obvious if it is there. Here's a screenshot of the app icon though, as there are lots of Amazon apps, but this one is appstore:

I've just clicked today's "parcel".
But open the app and look at the very bottom right of your screen. You'll see a floating parcel icon - press it and you'll get the coins.- On wht app

Yes but you can't combine them with money, you have to pay for a whole thing with coins. You can buy more coins, at a discount, but only in certain amounts. - Author
