    Free Antivirus (best IMO)

    Banned
Because I read a few threads where ppl were asking about antivirus, I thought I'd post this.

If I have got my math right, you should get at least 12 months free virus protection, just using trial versions

    In no particular order...

    Kaspersky kaspersky.com/
    AVG grisoft.com/
    Avast avast.com/
    NOD32 eset.com/
    Panda pandasecurity.com
    BitDefender bitdefender.com/
    Norman norman.com/
    F-Secure f-secure.com/
    Avira avira.com

    1. Install any of the free trials
    2. When it runs-out,un-install it
    3. Install a different version or new program
    4. Keep doing that for the next 12 months
    5. Nothing is 100%, but Hey! they're free trial versions
    6. Or if your happy with your antivirus version, just buy a 12months licence

nice idea if you can be bothered

Not worth it really, All the installing and uninstalling will probably screw your PC up or cause problems installing other security products with all the junk they leave behind.

At the end of the day you pay for them to prevent your PC from screwing up.

AVG, Avast and Avira are free anyway. Am I missing something?

Yep, check again, there are diffrent versions, free and full trial versions

Great idea in theory, until you look a little deeper. Try and install one of these trails and notice all those registry entries it makes, plus files and folders all over the place. Now go and un-install it, most of the rubbish is still there. With your little plan you will soon have a screw up registry unless you are very careful, this would require quite a bit of time.

So just go for one of the free options out there.

Avast so long as its for home use you get the full version, commercial use you pay for as it ]says here!

I've found that AVG/Avast are just as good as, if not better than, paid alternatives.

    Wrong link, but ...

    60 day trail:
    avast.com/eng…tml
It's a negligable affect on the registry if you un-install and use new antivirus programs.

But Hey! each to their own

A sure fire way to booger your PC up completely!

anyone know where i can find the link to the test that some guy did to test anti-virus programs that use the least resources, and he did a test by creating a virus himself and tested it to find if the antivirus programs recognised it.
