Free Bike (Selected People who Qualify via FREE-BIKE! Scheme) @ Halford's

Posted 18th Dec 2020
Everyone’s been affected by the coronavirus crisis, but for young people coming into the job market, things are particularly tough right now. Youth unemployment is on course to reach its highest levels since the early 1980s and the ongoing uncertainty around the pandemic mean it’s never been more challenging for young people to find – and retain – work.

Here at Halfords, we wanted to go some small way to help young people overcome this challenge and that’s why we’ve launched the Free-bike! scheme.

Free-bike! is designed to help young people who have either lost their job during the pandemic or have been out of work for three months or more. We’re giving away 20 brilliant Apollo, Carrera and Pendleton e-bikes (plus accessories), worth up to £999, to help these young people to get out and about to find work.

The scheme is open to young people aged 18-24 and you can find out how to apply by clicking on the "Get Deal". As the e-bikes are intended to help people who are experiencing economic hardship due to the pandemic, they’ll ask you to say a few words about this during the application process.

Applications are invited from people aged 18-24 who are current UK residents.
The closing date for applications is 4 January 2021
Successful applicants will be selected by 18 January 2021 and notified by 25 January 2021.
Halfords may call or email applicants to ask some questions about their circumstances.
Halfords will pick the most deserving entrants, based on an assessment of how much of a beneficial impact an e-bike will make on their employment and financial situation.
Arrangements will be made for applicants to collect their e-bike and accessories from their nearest Halfords store.
Successful applicants will be gifted either a Pendleton Somerby e-bike, Carrera Crosscity e-bike or Apollo Transport e-bike, plus the following accessories*: a Halfords branded helmet, Halfords branded lock, and Halfords branded front and rear lights.
Successful applicants may be asked to participate in photography and video for use in marketing and publicity. Consent for this will be sought separately.
All submissions will be treated in the strictest confidence, recognising that they may contain both personal data and special category (sensitive) data i.e. they will be available to one individual only and fully anonymised prior to sharing with the judging panel. Only when a winner is selected, will their identity be disclosed to Halfords personnel and Halfords appointed agents, and even at that point, access to the information will be limited and controlled.
Halfords Limited will remain the Data Controller.
All non-successful submissions will be destroyed securely once judging is complete: data retention in respect of the winners’ information will be agreed separately with the respective data subjects.
