yea... because thats a daily occurrence

Good grief, this stinks to the high heavens.

How about doing the right thing without expecting any money for doing so?
Surely we do the right thing because it's the right thing to do - not because we're looking for cash payments?

It just goes to show how far down the moral scale our society has fallen that this is deemed necessary.

This has been running for some years, any deterrant including a cash incentive if needs be could save a life, in my view that doesnt stink. It stinks to me when people have such oppinionated views and do naff all but have a moan, you would be surprised the amount of support you get if you bought a better idea forward as a deterrant and worked at making it stand. First impressions dont teach us whats actually inside the book, in this instance especially what high risk communities this could prove to be a positive deterrant, the police serve as a service to fight crime, they have to be applauded for ther incentive for crime prevention in this subject, if it works theres no argument.

Firstly; If 'it's been running for some years' we will have sound data showing results, and reasons for continuing to fund this policy.
The reality is we don't have anything that any self-respecting criminologist would put their name to.

Secondly; If 'it's been running for some years' isn't it a contradiction to call it a deterrent?

Most people form opinions after acquiring and processing information - an action that can hardly be described as doing 'naff all' and sharing that information does not equate to 'have a moan'.

I did bring a better idea forward; it needs no work to stand, nor does it need unnecessary finance.

I go much further than 'first impressions' - there is absolutely no 'real' evidence anywhere ever to show this policy works.

I am well aware of the role played by police in society, but in my opinion this particular policy is a good example of lazy thinking in crime prevention.
