you would only get the fr view channels and you would also nee to get a card off sky for that around £20 one off payment. better to get freesat hd box

yes only get free channels but according to Damnome i still could not record the free channels using the sky+ box is that right???

As said you can get a card from Sky ,it's now £25 giving you the free to view channels but you still cannot use the recording function .
I have the same setup , a second hand Sky + box , a card [ no monthly subscription] to watch the free to view channels but cannot record using the inbuilt HDD in the box .You have to subscribe per month to use the recorder .

can you use the sky dish and purchase a freesat box and recieve freesat hd then?

In a word YES, but only a few channels are actually HD.

only itv and bbc.. bit rubbish but at least its free i suppose

when my half price sky ends ill spring for a humax box and see if i can handle the limited channels but more money in my pocket!!
