Hi all

I'm thinking of getting my mum a Freesat box for Christmas, but having looked into it, it seems I need a Quad LNB too. Now, Sky (standard) was installed in 2002 and was never upgraded - but it is a minidish that's outside. Is there any way of telling if it's a quad?

Thanks!

Probably isnt, but if it is, you should be able to see four ports on it where the cable comes of it.

I can almost bet diamonds on it that it will be a single port lnb if the dish has been up since 2002, however as deathtrap 3000 mentions above if you can stand under or get near to the dish you should see how many ports are on the lnb.

cheers folks

ive got an brand new 8 lnb if u want one.

You only need a quad LNB if you are using the Freesat as well as Sky.

Freesat alone, only requires a single LNB.

That's what I thought! One connection to a freesat box = 1 LNB
