Freesat HD PVR or Freeview HD PVR - which is best?

The Digital Switchover process began in the Central Scotland TV region today and will be completed on 22nd June. I want to get a HD PVR, but I'm not sure which format is the best.

Fwiw, I've got a twin LNB satelite dish and get a good freeview reception. Please help me out with this decision. Thanks.

That's a resounding YES for Freesat then X)

I have both, Freeview for me, it has less channels, but they are better channels.

Costs less as well to buy initially.

In Tayside we don't even get the full Freeview range - just the channels they have to provide as the rest were deemed economically unviable. So the vote from Tayside goes to...quite obviously...the magnificent Freesat.

The best thing about freesat in Scotland is that you can tell your box you're not in Scotland. Unless you have a pressing desire to record postcode challenge, some crappy drama bought in from Ireland or Australia on the cheap and some has-been footballers blethering on.

I've had a look at the channel lists and the meaningful differences of each - I say meaningful because there's a lot of stuff I wouldn't be interested in, mostly on Freesat, but some on Freeview:

Freeview = Dave, Pick TV, 5 USA, 5*, Yesterday, Challenge

Freesat = iplayer, ITV on demand (when it comes) CBS variations, News channels,Film Four +1, Regional Variations, music/ radio channels

I think I'll be going for the Freesat because I can still get Dave on normal Freeview via my TV.
Imo, the iplayer is a BIG score for Freesat, while Dave is Freeview biggest score.

And the ability to select BBC London/Regional and ITV London from the channel list (i.e. without having to change postcode) - invaluable for when STV decide we'd rather watch a dusty old film AGAIN rather than the FA Cup Final, or BBC Scotland make us wait an extra hour for Match of the Day because there's a programme about some old git weaving on an old loom in the Hebrides.
