I want to buy a freesat box for the bedroom, my bedroom tv is HD ready.
Do i need to run a cable(which sort) from the sky box downstairs? if not, how do i set it up?
Many thanks

You'll need to run a co-ax cable from the dish. You'll also need a quad LNB (around 10-15 quid on fleabay). It's as simple as that.

Yeah as long as you can get up a ladder ok. Just need two "f" connectors, a length of co-ax, cable clips and a drill.

Most quad LNB's are universal fitting and will suit your dish, it's just a two minute changeover for that.

If you want HD on the tv though make sure you buy the HD version of the freesat box. My friend bought a HD telly and automatically assumed that her dvd and normal Sky box were now in glorious HD! :-D

the connectors are called "f" connectors and they just twist onto the prepared cable. they then screw onto the connector on the LNB (the bit that sticks out at the front of the dish
