FUEL PRICES: £1 for evey 5 miles you do.

At £ 1.25 p/litre it's working out at £1 for every 5 miles. They predict £1.50 p/litre come the Summer & some are predicting by Summer 2012 it will be touching the £2 p/litre.

Don't you just love this Government who use the Public's purse to pay for their own Fuel.

    +1

I pay about 60p for every 5 miles currently.

Would like to compare the mpg of engines in cars now compared to 10 years or so ago when it was 70p odd per litre

Well I only drive a Toyota Yaris 1.8SR & for every £15 I get around 70 miles so I would think some people will get the same, less & a little more for the £15.If you get more for £15 then be happy :-/
But you will be paying this amount very soon the way Fuel is going.

I run on LPG, 70p/litre at the mo, but should go down a bit once Spring arrives and folk stop using it to heat their houses so much.

    Did you pass maths?

35mpg for me. £5.76/ gallon last time i filled up, so 6 miles on £1. dammit

hmmm......the prices are scarily high. was gonna get a Q7 (not new) but my friend got one..she filled her tank for £153!! of diesel..its shocking. and it bearly goes very far (im a woman dont ask me numbers). so thats put me RIGHT off the Q7. the only option i got for a 4x4 hybrid is a Lexus...they arent very wow though...but they are very cheap price wise as they depreciate loads....

    hmmmm

So how much is it ?

Costs me about 55p for every 5 miles. Even so it's balls last year I could get 120-30 miles out of a tenner now can only get about 90-95 tops.

Guys can you state what size of Engine please so to see if I'm being ripped-off with this Yaris :-/

Mine is a 2.5 litre 4x4, running on LPG it costs me about 13p/mile, so for a quid I can go for roughly 8 miles

I have a 1.8 cmax zetec, petrol. Get about 40 mpg, Cba to work it out

    Volvo C30 1.6 - £62 to fill the tank - 360 miles to empty.
Very disappointing return, but car is used for town runs.
    So 5 miles = 86p

Golf 1.6 275 to full tank so it's around £1 = 5 miles only use it local purposes only not for work

    2.0 Litre HDI 306.

Spare a thought for the poor Americans, they get all upset when the price of 'gas' gets to $3 per gallon (about £2) as opposed to our £5.76, God knows where all the money goes in the UK!

Tax is the majority of the fuel, and we sit on our backsides not moaning about it and we moaned about it and got somewhere when it was a lot lower. British consumer whine is a wierd thing.

theres a simple solution-use the "mrs barky method"

she only ever puts £20 in at a time so she keeps telling me that petrol isnt any more expensive because her bill is always the same-female logic is a marvellous thing!

    Indeed.

Wife- "Where did you put them?"

Me- "In the logical place, the draw"

Wife- "Why did you put it there I couldn't find it."

    Me- "errr?"

I do that too! I have to put £40 in at a time though, it's a v thirsty car. I'm getting no more than about 22mpg running about, much better on longer treks.
